Pig Hunt With Conservative Game Management

My son, daughter, wife and I just got back from hunting with CMG in the Diablo Mountains in California. It was a great hunt. CGM’s property is amazing. Our guides were great. This is a real wild pig hunt, not a sit over bait waiting for feeding time. The pigs constantly move around the hills so we covered ground trying to catch groups moving or feeding in the open. We spent the days driving the trails through the mountains and glassing the slopes and valleys. We glassed groups of Tule elk, numerous Columbia black tail deer, a few coyotes and a bobcat.

The goal was to get my kids on some pigs. Unfortunately the pigs weren’t as cooperative as the other wildlife. We did see a couple sounders of pigs. With one of those groups we were just seconds late getting into position before they disappeared into the brush.

I thought my kids were going to be really disappointed but even without taking pigs, they absolutely loved it. CGM guarantees hunters an opportunity at a pig. When that opportunity didn’t present itself they didn’t hesitate to offer us a second hunt at no extra cost. We can’t wait to get back for round two — Shane Oyster
